Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM), the nation’s largest network of FAA-certified Aircraft Maintenance Technician schools, celebrated the grand opening of its 15th campus today near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, at 4025 S. 32nd Street. The celebration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the unveiling of a donated Boeing 757 winglet from American Airlines.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by the school’s students and leadership, local government officials and representatives from American Airlines. Guests enjoyed speakers’ remarks and refreshments, networked with industry professionals, and toured the newly renovated facility. In addition to the winglet, American Airlines is also providing a branded classroom to the school where students will be inspired to complete their studies.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the opening of our newest AIM campus in Phoenix,” said Dr. Joel English, President of Aviation Institute of Maintenance. “This expansion allows us to better serve the needs of our students and industry partners in the region.”
Mayor Kate Gallego of Phoenix stated “AIM’s commitment to providing top-notch aviation maintenance education not only enhances the skill set of our workforce but also contributes to the growth of the Phoenix economy. Their dedication to cultivating talent and fostering innovation aligns seamlessly with our vision for a thriving community.”
AIM is a valuable partner to many major airlines and aviation suppliers across the country, providing skilled technicians who contribute to the continued need for licensed technicians. Over the past three years, 80% of AIM graduates left the school with their part 147 certifications, opening doors to lucrative careers in the aviation and aerospace industries.
