HOUSTON (May 10, 2023) – Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) is pleased to announce AIM Houston students Brian Cleveland, Brandon Johnson, and Adrian Roman as the recipients of Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) scholarships.
PAMA recognized its 2023 scholarship recipients during the award ceremony at the Aerospace Maintenance Competition in Atlanta last month. Brian Cleveland, a current student at Aviation Institute of Maintenance’s Houston campus, holds a 4.0 GPA and works as a mechanic for Mesa Airlines while pursuing his A&P license. Additionally, Brian serves as Secretary for the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). He was awarded a $1,500 scholarship, courtesy of JSfirm.com. The scholarship criteria required the recipient be a recent graduate or current student of an FAA part 147 school, the submission of a transcript, two letters of recommendation, and an essay on career ambitions.
“I feel honored to have received this scholarship. I was not expecting it and it gives me an extra boost to keep going,” says Cleveland.
Students Brandon Johnson and Adrian Roman were recently awarded scholarships from the local South Texas PAMA. South Texas PAMA will cover the entire remaining tuition balance for both students. Brandon enrolled at AIM in April 2022 and is slated to graduate in January of next year. He holds a 3.79 GPA. Adrian is a recent enrollee at AIM, beginning his training in January 2023. He holds a 4.0 GPA and will graduate in October of 2024.
“It is truly a blessing. Growing up, we really did not have anything. I was not sure how I was going to go to school and now I have a free ride. I have a 19-month-old son and that drives me,” says Adrian Roman.
